About Rachel

I am Deputy Leader of the Green Party of England and Wales, and I'm proud to have led the Greens into leadership at Wealden District Council after decades of Conservative rule. It's been a privilege to deliver real change for our communities, making Wealden greener, fairer and kinder with affordable homes, new health centres and nature recovery.

I'm ready to bring that same energy, integrity and hope to Sussex & Brighton. This is a wonderful place, but inequality is rising and our housing and transport systems are broken. I will demand more from Westminster, so that our communities and nature can thrive together. Together, we can create a Sussex that works for us all. More →

Sussex & Brighton Mayor

In May 2026, voters across East Sussex, West Sussex and Brighton & Hove will vote for their first Mayor to lead the Combined Authority of Sussex & Brighton. The Mayor will have new strategic powers over transport, housing and jobs - this is a critical role for all our communities and for nature, representing 1.7 million people from the High Weald to Hove, Crawley to Chichester and everywhere in between.
